Current Research

There are currently 2 major areas of research running in the Beardall Lab.

• Effects of global climate change (elevated CO2 and UVB radiation) on the physiological performance of microalgae.
• Use of biospectroscopic imaging and fluorescence to investigate the macromolecular composition and physiological state of algal cells.
  In conjunction with Professor Don McNaughton and the Centre for Biospectroscopy and Biospectroscopic Imaging, School of Chemistry.
