The Australian Society for Limnology Early Career Excellence Award aims to reward and encourage excellence by an early career limnologist who has contributed substantially to Australian limnology and/or aquatic ecosystem management.                                                                                       Nick has made, and is continuing to make, very significant contributions, and this award is well deserved. The Vice Chancellor's Award for Honours Supervision for 2009 has been awarded to Richard Reina.
