Purpose & Objectives
To look at competitor relationships and understand specific adaptations that allows them to co-exist.
Classroom activity
- Students add the leopard’s competitors to the food web and by marking with string, look at the relationships of the food web of the other animals.
- From this the class should discuss the differences in adaptations that allow these animals to coexist.
- Plot the data points from their leopard.
- Identify leopard photos from camera trap pictures.
Independent activity
Split the class into small groups and assign each group a hypothetical scenario. As a group students should draw a flow chart demonstrating the direct and indirect impact of the scenario on a leopard’s ecosystem. |
